1540 - Alessandro Barnaba's Fiamma has captured the bullet in Race #6, just ahead of Rod Jabin's Ramrod. Ramrod's strong finish was not enough to move it ahead of William Douglass' Goombay Smash, who sailed across the finish line in 14th to secure the provisional victory in the 2008 Rolex Farr 40 Pre-Worlds.
1530 – Ramrod has moved into the lead at the second weather mark. Goombay Smash still holds the overall lead by three points. 1515 – Warpath came grinding to a halt between the two gate marks and their chances for winning the Rolex Farr 40 Per-Worlds crashed with their speed. Complete roundings through the gate of race 6 have been posted: http://www.farr40worlds.com/content/view/66/38/ 1505 – Fiamma has opened up a healthy lead at the gate. Nerone and Ramrod rounded opposite gate marks simultaneously in second and third. Goombay Smash and Warpath remain entangled in a large pack in the middle of the fleet. 1455 – At the first mark of the last race, any one of four boats could claim the overall title. With the two leaders sailing in the middle of the pack, third and fourth place Nerone and Ramrod are up near the top of the fleet and back into contention for the overall victory. Hang on tight for the exciting finish! Complete Mark 1 roundings have been posted: http://www.farr40worlds.com/content/view/66/38/ 1450 - The entire fleet has rounded the first mark and is on its way downwind to the gate. When they reached the port tack layline to the finish, the two boats gybed simultaneously, but Mascalzone Latino’s was positioned so that they were blocking the wind from reaching Fiamma’s spinnaker. Fiamma tried to luff Mascalzone as its spinnaker collapsed, but it was too late and the Latin Rascals rolled over the top to claim the victory in race #5.
